We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support a non-profit organization in Natick, Massachusetts. This Contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who can manage core financial activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to day-to-day accounting operations. The role offers the opportunity to handle essential accounting functions while assisting with additional projects as business needs evolve.
Responsibilities:• Process payroll accurately and on schedule while ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate month-to-month accounting activity
• Maintain the general ledger and review transactions for completeness and accuracy
• Assist with corporate tax-related tasks, including support for tax return preparation and review
• Handle sales tax reporting activities and help ensure timely and accurate filings
• Support special accounting projects and provide financial assistance as needed across the team• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation
• Background in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Familiarity with payroll processing and related accounting responsibilities
• Understanding of corporate tax, including exposure to corporate tax returns
• Experience with sales tax reporting and compliance activities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounting priorities effectively
