Job Title: Delivery Driver & Warehouse Associate — Automotive, Marine & Commercial Truck Batteries

Location: [East Freetown, MA]
Reports to: Manager
Employment Type: Full-time M-F 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Position Summary
Deliver automotive, marine and commercial truck batteries to customers safely and on time, and support warehouse operations including receiving, inventory, staging, and order fulfillment. Role requires safe driving, battery handling, basic customer service, and physical work in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company delivery vehicles (vans) to deliver batteries to repair shops, fleet customers, retailers, and end users.
• Load and unload batteries, using proper lifting techniques and material-handling equipment (hand truck, pallet jack, forklift if certified).
• Verify order accuracy at pickup and delivery; obtain signatures, complete delivery paperwork.
• Inspect batteries for damage and report discrepancies or returns per company policy.
• Assist with warehouse tasks: receiving shipments, checking manifests, stocking shelves, picking and staging orders, cycle counts, and general housekeeping.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, report maintenance needs, and ensure proper securing of cargo.
• Follow safety guidelines for battery handling, storage, and disposal (including proper PPE and spill/acid exposure procedures).
• Provide professional customer service, answer basic product questions, and escalate technical issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to company policies, DOT and local driving regulations, and hazardous materials handling protocols if applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL not required
• 1+ years driving experience in delivery or commercial vehicle operation preferred.
• Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or parts distribution experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs frequently and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and in a warehouse environment.
• Basic math, reading, and record-keeping skills; comfortable using mobile devices or handheld scanners.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, good communication and customer-service skills.
• Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Able to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy items (batteries).
• Climbing in and out of trucks, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots) as required.
• Work may involve exposure to battery acid, fumes, and noise—training provided.

Working Conditions & Schedule

• Full-time [ M-F 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM ].
• Combination of driving, outdoor deliveries, and indoor warehouse duties.
