The Early Intervention Translator ensures accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation during assessments, meetings, and service delivery, enabling effective communication and participation for all parties involved.

  • Assist families in understanding the cultural context of the EI services, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of interpretation sessions as required by the organization, including time spent, services provided, and any significant observations.
  • Translate written documents, such as consent forms, informational brochures, and service plans, as requested.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss service delivery and contribute to the development of effective communication strategies.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and professional ethics related to interpreting in EI settings.
  • Maintain a neutral and impartial stance during all interpreting assignments, ensuring that personal opinions or biases do not influence the communication process.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in interpretation, EI services, and cultural competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, division management team member, or division director.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.
