Senior Lab Technician

Role Description Form Energy is hiring a senior lab technician to support characterization of our battery materials. This role reports into our Reliability Analytics team, which focuses on material characterization to build a mechanistic understanding of how our battery performs and changes over time. As part of our team, you will contribute to a deeper understanding of our battery systems before, during, and after test, and work closely with both R&D and manufacturing teams to help drive meaningful changes in our technology. What You'll Do- Image and analyze a wide variety of battery components by SEM, CT, XRD, XRF, and more.
- Negotiate characterization requests with our stakeholders, balancing requests with characterization outcomes.
- Develop and optimize sample preparation and measurement techniques.
- Own key workflows, communicate progress updates, and escalate needs during daily team stand-ups.
- 4+ years of characterization experience.
- Demonstrated experience prepping, imaging, and analyzing materials using advanced characterization equipment. Materials characterization experience strongly desired, such as: SEM, XRD, CT, XRF, etc.
- Demonstrated experience multitasking and balancing priorities of different tasks at different stages simultaneously.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems, lean/agilent systems, and the like.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
