Blueport is seeking a Staff Accountant that thrives on learning new skills, driving process
improvements, and who is not afraid to jump into working on complex finance and accounting
projects. You will join a small but very skilled Finance team and will be responsible for helping
maintain the general ledger and financial reports for a dynamic and passionate big-ticket ecommerce
leader.
- Lead the Accounts Payable process including entering invoices, payment administration and vendor communication.
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing and treasury
- Post credit card transactions and reconcile for the monthly close
- Post daily cash activity to the general ledger
- Prepare journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations related to monthly close processes.
- Allocate monthly expenses departments, customers, and key expense accounts
- Accurately document variances and establish efficient solutions
- Assist with payroll functions
- Assist with budget planning, monthly reporting, and forecasting
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve technical accounting issues
- Detail-orientated
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain internal and client relationships
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization while functioning in a multi-tasking environment
- Self-motivated with the desire for continuous improvement in all finance and accounting processes and procedures
- Creative problem-solving ability
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1 year or more of related experience preferred;
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Familiarity and experience in auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, etc.
- Expert Excel knowledge (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table)
Must be eligible to work in US
