Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Boston, MA (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable) . The ideal candidate must have Network Engineering experience, specializing in SD‑WAN, Cisco switches/routers, and enterprise-wide Network Access Control (NAC) using Cisco ISE. This role requires a highly technical leader with experience driving global network architecture, strategy, and operational excellence.

Rate Range: $102/hour to $105/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Network Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Lead global SD‑WAN architecture, defining standards for topology, routing, resiliency, and application‑aware traffic steering.
• Provide technical leadership for global and regional connectivity models, including carrier strategy, provider diversity, and performance SLAs.
• Drive enterprise NAC (Network Access Control) strategy using Cisco ISE, aligning with Zero Trust principles for secure device onboarding and posture validation.
• Design and govern hybrid and multi‑cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments.
• Establish scalable, resilient global hub‑and‑spoke and transit architectures.
• Guide cloud connectivity decisions (private vs. VPN, regional vs. global hubs) based on compliance and business needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Must‑Have Skills (10+ years):
  • SD‑WAN
  • Cisco Switches & Routers
  • Network Access Control (NAC) using Cisco ISE
• Additional Required Experience:
  • Strong technical leadership in enterprise/cloud networking.
  • Expertise managing multi‑vendor, multi‑protocol routing (advanced BGP).
  • Proven AWS/Azure cloud networking experience (Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, ExpressRoute, etc.).
  • Deep experience with SD‑WAN platforms (Palo Alto ION strongly preferred).
  • Hands‑on NAC strategy development (802.1X, MAB authentication models).
  • Voice networking: Zoom Phone, SIP call flows, auto attendants, desk phones, reporting, troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, enforce standards, and drive operational governance.
• Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Voice Network experience (Zoom Phone, SIP call flows).
  • Industry certifications (not required but beneficial).
• Extension Probability: Yes, highly likely based on performance.

Pay Details: $102.00 to $105.00 per hour
