Description & Requirements
The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard is seeking an outstanding and innovative Computational Scientist to join the Methods Development Lab.
The core mission of this role is the development of novel, scalable computational methods and robust analytical pipelines for the interrogation of ultra high-throughput single-cell multiomic data. This includes, but is not limited to, advanced analyses of transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenomics, and large-scale perturbation (e.g., Perturb-seq) datasets. The combination of molecular and computational advances over the past decade has substantially augmented our ability to create transformative methods. While this accelerated pace of method development offers great promise, the rapid expansion of novel techniques gives rise to new challenges in effective adoption and implementation. To capitalize on these exciting advances, the Broad Institute has formed the Methods Development Lab (MDL), with the mission of identifying key scientific frontiers, generating high-performance end-to-end methods, and driving cutting-edge applications with collaborators across the research community.
Postdoctoral Researcher:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to drive the development and evaluation of advanced perturbation technologies. A core mission of the MDL is to engineer highly scalable and robust tools that push the boundaries of functional genomics. In addition to scale, we have a strong research emphasis on creating advanced library construction techniques that increase capture efficiency and enable multimodal measurements. The Postdoctoral Researcher will drive key projects in this space, executing on project plans, communicating progress, and fostering strong and productive collaborations. In addition to methods development, The Postdoctoral Researcher will drive application of these novel methods at the Broad Institute and work closely with production teams to translate novel methods into production scale processes to make them available to the community.
