Data Engineer
Our client, a financial services company in Boston, is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. This role involves building ETL processes, optimizing data warehouses, and ensuring data quality across the organization. The position reports to the Director of Data Engineering and collaborates closely with data science, analytics, and product teams.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with cloud platforms, SQL, and modern data stack tools. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week on-site at their Financial District office.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Develop and optimize data warehouse architecture for analytics and reporting
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all systems
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support analytics initiatives
- Implement data governance and security best practices
- Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure performance issues
- Document data models, pipelines, and technical processes
- Evaluate and implement new data technologies and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Experience with ETL tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Fivetran
- Understanding of data modeling and database design principles
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
