Job Description
The Production Technician sets up machinery and equipment to perform light and routine processing operations involved in the production of parts and finished goods. This role ensures all work meets established tolerance and quality standards, maintains accurate records, participates in team-based problem solving and planning, and supports training of other manufacturing personnel in product, process, and quality aspects of the job. The Production Technician also performs other related duties as needed or directed to support efficient and safe production operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up machinery and equipment to perform routine processing operations for parts and finished goods in accordance with production requirements.
- Ensure all work performed meets established tolerance, quality, and safety standards.
- Maintain and keep accurate records related to production activities, equipment settings, and quality checks.
- Participate actively in group meetings and team-based problem-solving activities to improve processes and resolve production issues.
- Provide input to work planning and scheduling to help optimize production flow and resource utilization.
- Train other manufacturing personnel in product specifications, production processes, and quality-related aspects of the job.
- Monitor machines during operation to identify irregularities and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, inspection, and basic adjustments, and determine when additional maintenance is needed.
- Handle materials and perform mixing and general production tasks as required.
- Perform data entry related to production runs, quality checks, and inventory tracking.
- Lift and move materials and products, including loads up to 50 lbs, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out other related duties as needed or directed to support production goals.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated ability in operation and control, including controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Experience with equipment maintenance, including performing routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Strong operation monitoring skills, including watching gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.
- Active listening skills, with the ability to give full attention to others, understand points being made, ask appropriate questions, and avoid interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Troubleshooting skills to determine causes of operating errors and decide on appropriate corrective actions.
- Active learning ability to understand the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Capability to perform production and general manufacturing tasks, including machine operation and mixing.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry related to production and quality records.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a production or general manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with machine operation in a climate-controlled facility.
- Comfort with heavy lifting and material handling in a production setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in group settings and contribute to team problem-solving.
- Willingness to train and support other manufacturing personnel in product, process, and quality topics.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
