Mid-Level Structural / Civil Engineer - Boston, MA
SurfZone Engineering is a well-regarded and growing engineering consulting firm based in the Boston area. We are seeking a motivated Mid-Level Structural / Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to a diverse range of residential and commercial projects.Responsibilities* Structural analysis and design of:
- Wood-frame residential structures
- Steel and concrete commercial buildings
- Perform site inspections and field assessments
- Prepare structural engineering reports and recommendations
- Assist with residential civil and drainage design calculations
- Draft and coordinate plans using AutoCAD and Revit
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other design professionals
- Support construction administration and field observation efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 3–7 years of relevant experience* Proficiency in structural analysis and design
- Experience with inspections and structural report preparation
- Familiarity with residential drainage and site-related calculations
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, professional, and capable of working independently
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT or PE license (or progress toward licensure)
- Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes and permitting processes
