Long-Form Writer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Long-Form Writer for a short-term assignment for one of our nonprofit clients in the healthcare space. Our client focuses on improving health and health care worldwide through quality improvement, patient safety, health equity and system redesign.

As a long form writer you will support overflow writing needs for a major thought leadership report. This project involves developing and refining a comprehensive, approximately 50 page report (inclusive of references, appendices, and supporting materials), modeled on our a few of our client's publications. This role is ideal for a highly skilled writer who excels at synthesizing complex, multi source content into a cohesive, engaging, and authoritative narrative for a healthcare and policy focused audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and polishing of a long form report (~50 pages) aligned with IHI's voice, tone, and editorial standards

• Synthesize and translate content from multiple inputs, including:

o A detailed report outline

o Project proposal and background materials

o Literature review and source documents

o Stakeholder interviews

o Quantitative and/or qualitative data

• Structure complex information into clear, compelling, and accessible long form content for a broad professional audience

• Incorporate feedback from multiple internal and external stakeholders, managing 2-3 structured rounds of revisions

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in long-form writing (reports, white papers, research publications, etc.)

• Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging and well-structured content

• Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and comfort working within established style guidelines and templates

• Experience writing healthcare specific documents - Knowledge of patient safety within healthcare
