JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional, strengths in service, thorough knowledge of the guest’s experience, and exceptional Beyond Compare service attitude for the position of In-Room Dining Order Taker. The In-Room Dining Order Taker plays a key role in delivering a luxurious guest experience at the Boston Harbor Hotel. This position is responsible for accurately taking guest orders via phone, coordinating timely preparation and delivery, and ensuring that all requests are fulfilled to the hotel's Five-Star standards. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive, and passionate about hospitality.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

This is a full-time role, candidates must have flexible night and weekend availability to fulfill this role.

Experience:

Must have at least (1) or more years of experience in Hospitality, with a combination of previous Food & Beverage in a Luxury environment preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

The primary responsibilities for the In-Room Dining Server will include but are not limited to:

• This position will be responsible for answering incoming calls, utilizing the guest name, and assisting with taking guest orders, to include room number, number of persons dining and quoting delivery time.
• Ensure that guest preferences and special occasions are noted and communicated to the appropriate departments.
• Full knowledge and descriptions of all menu items, including wine, beer and assisting with recommendations, including knowledge of service times and ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions
• Accurately take food and beverage orders while upselling items and offering thoughtful suggestions based on guest preferences.
• Enter all orders promptly and correctly into the POS system, ensuring proper communication to the culinary and service teams.
• Confirm orders and delivery times with guests and communicate any delays or changes effectively.
• Handle guest requests, complaints, or concerns with empathy and efficiency, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
• Provide the highest service standards possible to all guests.
• Meet and exceed all guest request and expectations with a professional attitude.
• Complete other tasks and duties assigned by the Manager.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

• Requires a thorough knowledge of food and beverage service, as well as luxury core standards.
• Require good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs + on a regular and continuous basis.
• Thorough knowledge of In-Room Dining service.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language. A second language is desirable.
