Vice President, Business Development (Group Purchasing)

Centicor Procurement Services is seeking an experienced and results-driven Vice President of Business Development & Spend Management to research, initiate, and cultivate growth opportunities in the self-operated non-commercial, leisure, and hospitality sectors with a focus on procurement for dining services operations in each setting to include food products, services, and related supplies. This role will be a significant contributor to the growth of the organization and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

In this role you will be responsible for crafting and executing a strategic sales plan, setting and achieving ambitious sales targets, and for building strong industry relationships that drive sustainable growth. You will manage a Director of Business Development and co-manage an inside sales representative while working collaboratively with marketing and operations to achieve results. Together you will build and propose targeted solutions that enhance the supply chain and spend management programs in both multi-unit and independent standalone settings by understanding each potential client’s culture, current operational reality, and corporate aspirations. Value creation for each client will be the key driver of your success and of ours as an organization.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Develop & implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve organizational goals including target identification, local tradeshow and association strategies, partnerships, and market awareness
  2. Build, maintain, track and execute against a strong pipeline utilizing HubSpot
  3. Develop proposals in collaboration with marketing and present to potential clients
  4. Pursue and close profitable new business opportunities
  5. Oversee the business development team providing targets, training, mentoring, and support
  6. Work collaboratively with leadership, supply chain, marketing and culinary to design solutions that address identified client needs
  7. Build partnerships in targeted segments that lead to growth opportunities
  8. Monitor targeted segments to understand changing client needs and the competitive landscape

 

Qualifications

  1. 7+ years' experience working in a foodservice related sales capacity required with a demonstrated history of success
  2. Prior experience managing a sales team a plus
  3. Prior experience selling to or for a group purchasing organization (GPO) or distributor preferred
  4. Prior experience selling at the senior leadership level of both multi-unit and large standalone clients
  5. Experience developing and implementing a sales strategy in the foodservice space with a record of sustained successful growth
  6. Strong strategic, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
  7. Strong verbal and written skills
  8. Analytical and relatable
  9. Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to prospect and meet with potential clients
