Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA 02215 – Explore the vibrant city life and historic neighborhoods of Boston.
• Assignment Type: Travel contract
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Ultrasound/Vascular Lab
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 20, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour days; flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours: 40 hours per week (72 guaranteed hours biweekly, excluding on-call)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2500-$2560
• On-Site Ultrasound Technologist Position

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer
• Current ARDMS certification (Required)
• BLS certification
• Proficiency in transplant, Doppler, and renal artery stenosis imaging
• Ability to perform abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and vascular ultrasound exams
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (no local travelers)

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular exams
• Assist physicians with sterile invasive procedures (amniocenteses, cyst punctures, thoracenteses, biopsies)
• Review patient charts, select appropriate equipment, and explain procedures to patients
• Operate portable ultrasound equipment in hospital units (O.R., ICU, ED, nursing floors)
• Record and manage images using PACS; provide preliminary interpretations as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation after meeting required expertise
• Serve as a technical resource, offering training and guidance to the healthcare team
• Perform high-level disinfection of ultrasound transducers per infection control protocols
