The Clinical Coordinator performs the duties of the Infection Preventionist and Wound Care Nurse.

The Infection control nurse/ Infection Preventionist will use a systematic approach to monitor the effectiveness of infection prevention and control strategies that are consistent with the organizations goals and objectives. This includes applying epidemiologic principles and statistical methods including risk stratification and benchmarking to identify target populations; determine risk factors; implement prevention and control strategies according to professional practice standards; analyze trends and evaluate processes.

The Wound Care Nurse provides direct patient care wound assessment selecting treatment modalities and collaborating with physicians. Develop implement and update individualized evidence-based care plans. Evaluate wound size depth and condition; perform dressing changes wound cleaning and debridement. Manage apply and monitor advanced treatments such as negative pressure wound therapy (VAC). Teach patients and caregivers how to clean and dress wounds at home to prevent complications and promote healing.
