Pay Rate: starting $27.84-$34.08 per hour commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
The Town of Yarmouth is searching for a Principal Office Assistant to join their Senior Services team!
Working under the supervision of the Director of Senior Services, performs administrative and clerical work as needed to support the operation of the office.
Independently performs varied, responsible, complex functions requiring a thorough knowledge of departmental and Town operations and the exercise of judgement and initiative in carrying out functions of considerable importance and in responding to inquiries in situations not clearly defined by precedent or established procedures, and all other related work as required.
Examples of position specific duties* include:
- Assists the public, town, and vendors with a variety of routine information
- Prepares documents and other information
- Manage and schedule programs, activities, and events
- Coordinate communications for programs and events
- Coordinate changes to division website
- Update database for program changes
- Prepares schedules for programs, activities, and events.
May be required to attend special meetings and work on special projects.
Performs similar or related work as required or as situation dictates.
RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school degree, including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping, office software and office administration. Associate degree preferred.

Minimal physical effort is generally required. Ability to operate a keyboard at efficient speed and sit at a computer for long periods of time. Occasionally required to move boxes or files weighing up to 20 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to talk, hear, walk, and sit.
