Essential Job Functions

Performs manual labor as it relates to the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment at boththe FranklinParkand StoneZoo. Repair or modification of existing exhibits, and construction of new exhibitsin accordance withthe instructions provided by the Facilities Supervisor or Director. Ability to meet maintenance deadlines, work in a teamenvironmentas well as work independently with minimum supervision. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to perform physical labor as defined by the projects at hand. Must be able to work weekend days and holidays on a rotating basis. Must be able tocomply withZNEs essential staff requirements during emergency situations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ability to work inwebbasedwork order system.

• Ability to complete work ordersandpreventative maintenance assigned including, but not limited to, Electricaltroubleshooting, Carpentry repair, Plumbing troubleshooting,HVACand Welding.

• Use of power and hand tools including, but not limitedto: saws, drills, planers, and ladders.

• Makingrepairs to existing structures and exhibits.

• Perform new construction following building codes.

• Working independently andin team settings.

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner to Zoo guests and employees.

• Willrequireuse of operating equipment including but not limited to, mini-trucks, full size trucks, dumptrucksand golfcart.

• Workingoutside in changing weather conditions.

• Computer skills including, email,Microsoft office, Internet, CMMS Programs, Building Engines,Fleetio, etc.

Minimum Job Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician.

• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Must have a valid drivers license in good standing.

• Ability to work outside in changing weather conditions.

• Must be available for 24houron call as needed.

• Ability to workevenings,weekends,and holidays

• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.

• Perform all other duties such assnow removal as requested.

• Abilityto work at both Franklin Park and Stone Zoo.

• Must be able to respond to on-call situations when scheduled.

Preferred Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• PreviousWork Order Management System Experience

• Trade Certifications
