Our client in Longmeadow, MA is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a contract position. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a reputable organization and add valuable experience to your accounting career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries and support financial statement preparation
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions as needed
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support special projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Prior experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting support role preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft D365)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
