Travel RN Job Details

• Position Title: Locum Tenens Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts 02118
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (38 beds) at Level 1 Trauma Center
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend and holiday required
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/3/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:3, 1:4, or 1:4-5 (including MedSurg patients)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,370 - $2,440

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Massachusetts preferred
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Experience in surgical stepdown at a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Stepdown RN experience
• Proficiency with automated medication dispensing systems
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Completion of Tele test and CC Med test on day 1
• Preferred: Experience in a tertiary care facility

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver intermediate care to post-operative patients from PACU or SICU, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythm strips
• Administer medications and manage automated medication dispensing systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Work scheduled 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
