Curry College School of Nursing offers several programs: Traditional BS in Nursing; Accelerated Second-Degree BS in Nursing; RN to BS completion, an accelerated entry-MSN; and an MSN with two tracks: education and administration. The newest program option, an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree is currently under review, seeking approval from the MA Board of Registration in Nursing. This position is contingent upon successful approval. The Baccalaureate and Master's programs are guided by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) professional standards. The ASN curriculum is based on the Massachusetts Nurse of the Future Core Competencies. The Curry College Baccalaureate Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accreditation process for the ASN program has been initiated.
The Assistant Dean supports the Dean and Associate Dean in the administration, quality, and overall functioning of the nursing program. This role provides operational leadership, program oversight, and faculty/student support with a focus on maintaining high-quality educational experiences with an emphasis on the ASN program.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean, Chair, and Program Coordinators/Director to support development of course calendars and faculty assignments to ensure smooth program delivery and positive student outcomes;
- Coordinate course schedules for the Associate Degree track in partnership with the Associate Dean and assist in reviewing and editing course offerings to ensure accurate communication and alignment with program needs;
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating part-time faculty across undergraduate programs in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Chair, and Coordinators;
- Serve as the MA BORN Program Administrator for the Associate Degree Program, ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining all required program documentation and reporting;
- Lead faculty in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards (ACEN);
- Support implementation of program policies and procedures; contribute to decision-making processes and communicate policy updates to faculty and students;
- Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts, including data collection, assessment activities, and accreditation preparation in collaboration with the Associate Dean;
- Work with faculty and students to address student concerns, uphold nursing policy and support equitable resolution;
- Provide coaching to faculty on conflict resolution, communication, and adherence to program expectations;
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for escalated student concerns that require input beyond the faculty;
- Collaborate with Nursing leadership to support the strategic direction and ongoing development of nursing program options;
- Represent Nursing, as needed, at college events, recruitment activities, and community engagements that support student success and program visibility;
- Participate in student recruitment, information sessions, and progression activities.
Additional Functions:
- Serve on Nursing committees as assigned;
- Mentor new faculty and support their integration into the program;
- Provide operational support to the Associate Dean and function as backup when needed;
- Engage in scholarship consistent with faculty expectations;
- Maintain confidentiality, professional standards, and Nursing protocols at all times;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or their designee.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years of teaching experience.
- Earned master's degree in nursing required
- Licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
- Record of scholarly achievement relevant to role and demonstrated expertise in leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate degree in nursing or related field.
- The desired qualifications for this job include previous administrative experience in a nursing program.
- Experience with MA BORN requirements and Nursing Accreditation standards.
Salary Range:
$105,000 to $113,000 annually
