Heavy Equipment Diesel Systems Technician
Role Overview
Picture your day starting in a well-equipped shop with a vehicle lift. You review the day’s work orders, power up diagnostic tools, and get hands-on with heavy equipment. From chasing down an electrical fault to performing a scheduled PM, you keep machines safe, reliable, and ready to work.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines on heavy equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex hydraulic and electrical issues using electronic diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes and assign or perform repairs.
- Perform inspections, detailed diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance services and other maintenance-related tasks as needed.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Document work thoroughly: repair notes, parts used, and time accounting.

Work environment
Shop setting with a lift in the garage to support safe, efficient repairs.
Schedule & compensation
- Hours: Monday through Friday — First shift.
- Pay: Up to $36.90 per hour based on experience.
- Planned increase: Pay moves to $37.90 per hour in May.
