2026 Summer Internship Program
The Worcester Red Sox are looking for highly motivated individuals and team players to gain experience working in many departments of their front office during the 2026 baseball season. This is a part-time internship that includes working during the daytime, nights, weekends, and holidays. The WooSox internship program is a comprehensive academic and professional experience that aims to help students develop the skills they need to build a career in the sports and entertainment industry. Although interns will be matched with a specific department, they will have the invaluable opportunity to assist within multiple departments under the guidance of various leaders, including our Club President and our Executive Vice President/General Manager. General Intern Description: All Worcester Red Sox Interns will gain hands-on experience across the many departments and initiatives of the Worcester Red Sox. In addition to your department-specific work, you will be tasked with ‘Intern Common Duties.’ Minimum Qualifications:- Flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during the season and within homestand weeks. Up to 30 hours/week.
- Positive, outgoing demeanor for fan interaction, embodying a commitment to exceptional fan service.
- Ability to conduct physical tasks, which may include ability to stand for extended periods (3+ hours), lift up to 25 pounds with assistance, if necessary, on-field tarp pulls, and mascot duties as assigned.
- A commitment to professionalism in the Front Office, including interpersonal interaction and office-appropriate dress code.
- Ability to always represent the Worcester Red Sox and its values, within Polar Park and at external appearances within the greater Massachusetts area.

The Worcester Red Sox Community Relations team embeds itself in the Worcester community and uses the WooSox' platform to enact meaningful, positive change. The Community Relations team works hand in hand with the WooSox Foundation, whose four pillars are: Education, Social Justice, Conquering Cancer, and Recreation/Diamond Sports. The Community Relations intern will assist the Foundation and CR Team with its many initiatives inside and around Polar Park. An ideal candidate has a passion for where baseball and advocacy intersect, and a curiosity for how a professional sports team can impact its community.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Facilitate and respond to in-kind donation requests that the Worcester Red Sox may receive from accredited nonprofits throughout the region.
- Serve as point of contact and assist with planning of In Debt to a Vet Program on game days.
- Assist with planning and implementation of community events?during the season at Polar Park.
- Provide support to all community and WooSox Foundation programming that the club runs on game days and while the team is on the road as needed.
- Build and manage relationships with nonprofit organizations in Worcester and across New England.
- Provide assistance with Saturday Youth Clinics and other WooSox player community appearances that arise during WooSox homestands.
- Have the availability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed during homestands.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
- General Intern Duties as assigned, including but not limited to tarp pulls, mascot duties, and public appearances on behalf of the Worcester Red Sox.
The Ticket Sales team is looking for interns who will gain the skills and confidence to make outbound sales calls in addition to playing a key role in enhancing the experience of groups and Royal Wooters Club Members (Season Ticket Members). These interns will gain insight into the WooSox sales strategy, contribute to meeting department sales goals, and provide hands-on support during games at Polar Park to continuously improve the fan experience.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Learn the Ultimate Toolkit ticket sales process.
- Prospect for sales leads and build lead lists for sales reps.
- Make outbound calls to sell mini plans, birthdays, and group outings.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and all fans leading up to and on the day of their game.
- Learn how to use Tickets.com and DBH360 CRM to make sales and track sales activity.
- Aid with WooSox Group Sales Theme/Promotional Nights, including event logistics and giveaway distribution.
- Assist with communication to Royal Wooters Club Members, Suite Holders, and Mini Plan Holders regarding their plans and benefits.
- Assist in planning and execution of Royal Wooters Club Member events.
- Promote upcoming theme nights and packages.
- Solicit feedback from members and groups to learn more about their experiences.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- General Intern Duties as assigned, including but not limited to tarp pulls, mascot duties, and public appearances on behalf of the Worcester Red Sox.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships Management, the Corporate Partnership interns will assist and support the Corporate Partnership team with client activations while helping to enhance the fan experience.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Assist with the organization and implementation of game night partner related activities, promotions, and events at each home game.
- Engage with partners and fans to ensure a positive game experience.
- Provide behind-the-scenes tours and private batting practice viewings to fans and partners throughout the season.
- Shoot and organize photos of partnership assets and activations throughout the season in preparation of mid-season and end-of-year proofs of performance.
- Assist with department events: Private Batting Practices, Partner Appreciation Events, etc.
- Distribute all corporate partnership tickets (season, suite, group, & hospitality) as needed.
- Create and distribute homestand reports with the goal of providing a high-level overview of corporate guests for each game.
- Create and distribute weekly Corporate Partnership Newsletter to all Corporate Partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
- General Intern Duties as assigned, including but not limited to tarp pulls, mascot duties, and public appearances on behalf of the Worcester Red Sox.
The Special Events Intern will assist the Events Team with several summertime events, hosted at Polar Park. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail and is interested in how a ballpark is used beyond baseball.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Assist with the execution of non-game day private and public events at Polar Park.
- Support private event clients before, during, and after events such as setup and breakdown, special requests, and other tasks as requested.
- Serve in several roles during public events, such as overseeing registration, ID'ing guests for 21+ events, interacting with vendors, and shadowing members of the Polar Park Events department, etc.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of internal Polar Park Events,?such as Season Ticket Member Events, Corporate Partner Family Day, and Batting Practices.
- Attend event sales and services meetings and site visits in an effort to gain a general knowledge of the special event process from start to finish.
- Support all other departments on an as-needed basis during Worcester Red Sox homestands.
- Research event market and analyze data to develop warm leads for special event sales.
- Create and curate content for social media best showcasing Polar Park Event capabilities.
- Create and update TripleSeat accounts and contacts to maintain CRM system.

The WooSox Merchandise Intern will collaborate closely with store management to maintain and enhance one of the top retail brick-and-mortar and online stores in Minor League Baseball. This role includes responsibilities of a Team Store Associate. A successful merchandise intern candidate is someone who has a genuine interest in fashion, buying, merchandising, and operations.
Fan Experience And Sales: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Provide a welcoming and positive shopping experience by greeting fans enthusiastically and assisting them in finding merchandise.
- Demonstrate knowledge of merchandise, promotions, and policies to ensure a seamless and enjoyable fan experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and park, reflecting team pride and community spirit.
- Engage fans proactively to suggest additional items, highlight promotions, and drive sales.
- Partner with store management to execute inventory processes, including counting, tagging, labeling, and storing new receipts.
- Display and rotate products on the sales floor to ensure a visually appealing presentation.
- Process and ship online orders daily and collaborate with other departments to fulfill merchandise needs.
- Restock the Team Store to maintain inventory levels.
- General Intern Duties as assigned, including but not limited to tarp pulls, mascot duties, and public appearances on behalf of the Worcester Red Sox.
- Exceptional Fan Engagement Skills: Ability to maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times, proactively greeting every fan who enters the proximity, ensuring each interaction is welcoming and leaves a positive impression.
- Flexible schedule, including openings, closings, nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during the season and within homestand weeks.
- Ability to work outdoors under shelter in various weather conditions for the Team Store as well as other departments within Polar Park.
- Willingness to learn and operate computers, cash registers, and other electronic devices such as the Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and inventory management systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (3+ hours) and lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance if necessary.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and an interest to learn and demonstrate leadership skills.
Worcester Red Sox marketing interns will work across multiple mediums to execute the holistic marketing strategy of the WooSox and Polar Park. Interns will work within the realms of regionalization, fan service and outreach, and digital marketing platforms. One marketing intern will be tasked with an emphasis on WooSox Rewards and Regionalization.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Leads gameday setup at the WooSox Rewards Headquarters during home games.
- Assists in the fan experience of WooSox Rewards, including customer service, prize fulfillment, email communication, point management, etc.
- Ideates and outlines activations for fan affinity programs including WooCrew Kids Club and WooU Student Loyalty
- Utilizes research methods to gather quantitative and qualitative data on member feedback and fan engagement metrics specific to fan loyalty
- Collaborates between departments of WooSox Front Office to execute fan loyalty initiatives
- Works closely with members of the WooSox Marketing Team to execute WooSox Rewards initiatives
- Contributes to creation and execution of WooSox Rewards communications (in-app, social media, email, and website)
- Assist in the strategic planning and execution of regional marketing efforts, including but not limited to WooSox Town Takeovers, meetings with town leadership, coordinating presence at various regional events, grassroots efforts, social media awareness, etc.
- Aiding in the execution of various game day marketing initiatives & the promotional schedule (giveaway distribution, theme nights, etc.)
- Assist with execution of various community appearances through the WooSox & WooSox Foundation
- Aiding in the mission of Polar Park to provide a superior fan experience to all fans. Participates in community outreach efforts in relation to WooSox regionalization efforts, including suiting up as Smiley, Woofster, Roberto, Clara, or other mascots when necessary.
- Seeks out and attends various promotional opportunities in relation to WooSox regionalization efforts, including, but not limited to, various Town Days in Central MA
- Helps to maintain detailed records of various regionalization efforts.
- Analyzes regionalization efforts through measurable goals (i.e. ticket sales per town, town locations attended, etc.)
- Aid in the fan experience, by providing fans with tours of Polar Park, and showcasing the ballpark's numerous indoor/outdoor seating areas, features, and amenities.
- Aid in strategic planning and enhancement of various theme nights to bring fans to Polar Park.
- Other marketing duties as assigned

- Experience with Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
- Knowledge of Central Massachusetts and larger New England.

The ideal candidate is energetic, passionate, focused, driven, and works well in a team environment. The Productions Intern will work gameday and non-game events at Polar Park within the WooSox control room and the Front Office.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Photograph and edit event photo/video for WooSox social media channels.
- Edit social media templates and help social media coordinator with posts and live tweeting of both home and road games.
- Assist with in-game production (working on pre-production or in a control room position)
- Help television production create content for broadcasts and run for the producer.
- Assist with television broadcast (working a camera or control room position as needed).
- Help operate A/V production for Polar Park Events
- Manage in-ballpark scoreboard messaging
- Experience with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
- Working proficiency with major social media platforms (including Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok).
The ideal Baseball Communications/PR candidate is outgoing and enigmatic with strong written and oral communication skills. The Baseball Communications/PR Intern will assist in the public representation of the Worcester Red Sox through several media channels.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:- Assisting in compiling daily stat packs including Game Notes
- Writing post-game recap stories
- Writing press releases
- Writing feature stories for the WooSox website (WooSox Newsroom)
- Assisting social media & content team
- Live tweeting, etc. during WooSox road games
- Provide info for WooSox radio & television broadcasters
- Help with any media requests
- Be involved with the WooSox Front Office in a variety of roles
