The Providence VA Healthcare System is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our team and serve the men and women who have served our nation at our Hyannis, MA Outpatient Clinic. Position Highlights & Responsibilities
Comprehensive Primary Care : Diagnose and treat a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop patient management plans.
Multi-Disciplinary Teamwork : Collaborate within a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) including an RN care manager, LPN, clinical pharmacist, psychologists, and social workers to deliver coordinated, wrap-around care.
Education & Mentorship: Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other learners, fostering the next generation of clinicians.
Integrated Support Services: Work in a system that provides seamless access to social work, travel assistance, housing, and pharmacy services-without the hassles of pre-authorizations or multiple formularies.
Small-Clinic Feel, Large-System Resources: Choose to work at the main facility with a large academic-center feel, or one of our small community clinics. Integrated Electronic Health Record System: Utilize a fully modernized, interoperable electronic health record (EHR) that connects seamlessly with the Department of Defense & other federal partners, enhanced with advanced technology-including AI tools-to support high-quality, efficient day-to-day patient care & enable robust population-level health analysis.
Work with Learners: Deepen your involvement in medical education by choosing to teach, mentor, & supervise medical students, residents, & other healthcare trainees.
Focus on Higher-Risk Populations: Take on leadership or specialized roles in caring for higher-risk or complex patient populations, with support from a robust, multi-disciplinary team.
Advance Multi-Disciplinary Care: Pursue innovative, team-based approaches to care, collaborating closely with nursing, pharmacy, mental health, & social work professionals.
Develop Clinical Programs: Initiate or participate in quality improvement, research, or clinical projects that match your passions & expertise.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining high clinic standards that are carried into decision-making processes.
Continually striving to maintain & enhance teaching skills to effectively teach residents and students
Complying with current standards for medical record documentation & resident/medical student supervision
Providing appropriate care for Veterans ranging in age from 18 through the geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis & physical, psychosocial, spiritual & cultural needs.
Conducting comprehensive health assessments; determining diagnoses & health care needs; & constructing health care plans based on effective therapeutic ability, consultation, patient education & established practice guidelines.
Demonstrating ability to coordinate patient care through patient management techniques within the assigned Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) & implementing the same functionality in PACTs.
U.S. Citizenship; M.D. or D.O.; a full, active, and unrestricted license; and at least one year of outpatient Primary Care or Internal Medicine experience are required.
