Join Aveanna Education Services as a Long-Term Certified Special Education Teacher! We have exciting opportunities at a public school serving students ages 2–15 with autism, developmental disabilities, and communication disorders.
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and effective academic environment tailored to each student’s needs. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing lesson plans, leading classes, writing and executing IEPs, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with related-services staff to ensure students thrive.

STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
To work as a special education teacher in the state of Massachusetts, you need to meet the following requirements.
- Special Education Degree : A Bachelor's of Science in Education with an emphasis in teaching students with special needs is recommended.
- Required Tests and Endorsements : You must pass several tests to gain Special Education credentials.
- Background Checks : Comprehensive background checks , including fingerprinting, are required for student safety.
- Academic Verification : Provide proof of completing an accredited educator preparation program.
As an employer accepting Medicare and Medicaid funds, employees must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing, subject to exemptions for medical or religious reasons as appropriate.
