SUMMARY:
The Math Interventionist fosters a passion of learning that encourages student curiosity, engagement, and growth in a welcoming community of learners. Our Math Program follows the DESE grade-level curriculum standards and utilizes a variety of resources as instructional materials.
Start Date: 8/31/26
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSILBILITES:
- Design and implement targeted intervention plans that support students in developing foundational number sense, computation, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students, families, and staff.
- Provide small group and individualized math instruction based on student needs, aligned with elementary curriculum standards.
- Differentiate instruction and intervention strategies to meet diverse learning profiles, including students requiring additional academic support.
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student confidence, engagement, and perseverance in mathematics.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, coaches, math team and administration to align instruction, analyze data, and share effective practices.
- Partner with school leadership and staff to support school-wide instructional goals and MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) frameworks.
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with families regarding student progress and strategies for supporting math learning at home.
- Promote a culture of enthusiasm and growth in mathematics across the school community.
- Ensure alignment of instructional practices with district curriculum and state standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and meet district expectations for licensure and continued growth.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Massachusetts DESE license - Math 1-6 License required
- SEI Endorsement
- Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints
SUPERVISES : Aides, assistants and volunteers as assigned by building principal
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Hudson School Committee’s policy on evaluation or in accordance with union contract.
WORK YEAR:
- 10 months, 183 days
- 3 personal days, 13 sick days, prorated pursuant to date of hire
- Benefit Eligible on start date. 30 days to enroll in coverage from start date.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have also have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands and frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $111,490.00 per year
