Industrial Maintenance Electrician - Controls & Automation
Shape What’s Next in Advanced Materials
Nearly a century after Alfred Fain opened a small Rhode Island tire shop, Teknor Apex has grown into a global custom compounder with nine U.S. sites and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. Still privately held—and still led by the Fain family—we’re known for close-knit teams and lasting customer relationships that power smart, tailored solutions.
As our Industrial Maintenance Electrician – Controls & Automation, you’ll keep production running by diagnosing and repairing plant electrical and control systems. You’ll move from urgent line calls to planned installs, ensuring safety and reliability at every step.

- Diagnose and resolve PLC faults (Allen-Bradley preferred), and adjust programs when needed.
- Update, repair, and maintain HMIs, PLCs, and VMDs to keep interfaces accurate and responsive.
- Partner with the Process Engineer on project installations and equipment upgrades.

- Support emergency and general maintenance—including weekend and off-shift coverage when required.
- Apply company safety procedures; participate in plant-wide safety initiatives and act on STOP Card findings.
- Monitor and manage critical spare-part inventory; flag gaps before they affect uptime.
- Complete monthly computer-based training and follow all policies, procedures, and rules.
- Read and interpret one-line diagrams, ladder logic, and manuals; use meters, hand tools, and shop equipment with confidence.
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders; collaborate daily with all functional teams.
- Take on other duties as assigned to support team goals.
