Technical Project Manager
Overview
The Technical Project Manager II is responsible for overseeing complex projects that support both departmental and cross-departmental initiatives, focusing on planning, resource management, and achieving project objectives. This role involves engaging with stakeholders to ensure project success and drive continuous improvement. With a strong technical background, the manager collaborates closely with engineering and development teams to identify technical risks and contribute to technology decisions. They may also participate in system architecture discussions, IT policy development, code reviews, and technical feasibility assessments, ensuring comprehensive project execution.
This role will manage end-to-end delivery of health IT projects including EHR enhancements and API integrations. The applicant should have familiarity with the Epic Systems ecosystem and a working knowledge of FHIR APIs, HL7 messaging, and other healthcare data standards (CCD, CDA).

Responsibilities
- Scope and Complexity: Manage moderately complex projects with budgets up to $100K, focusing on resource allocation and achieving objectives.
- Decision Making: Make informed decisions on resource allocation and timelines, with autonomy in resolving operational challenges.
- Analysis: Understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions, collaborating with analysts for requirement traceability.
- Stakeholder Interaction and Communication: Engage with stakeholders, including department heads, to gather requirements and provide updates.
- Project Management: Plan and oversee project activities, ensuring strategic alignment and efficient resource use.
- Quality Assurance, Performance Monitoring, and Risk Management: Track project progress and performance metrics, report findings, recommend improvements, identify potential risks, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Vendor Management: Lead vendor selection and implementation for small to medium projects involving one vendor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibility of which at least two (2) years must be in project management OR comparable roles.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. Eligibility required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and templates, including scheduling solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Competent in IT concepts including application development and support, networking, system integration, and information security.
- Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Solid understanding of formal project management methodologies, including waterfall, spiral, agile, lean, DMAIC, etc.
- Proficient in written and verbal communications with staff and management who have varying levels of technical aptitude, bridging the gap between business constituents and technical IT resources.
Pay Transparency Statement
The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
$98,495 - $111,307
