Reporting to the Director of Accounting, prepares and maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. May guide or review the work of support staff. Work is highly independent.

Job Functions:

• Prepare and post assigned journal entries
• Responsible for fixed asset accounting and CIP reporting
• Responsible for lease accounting system
• Responsible for Foundation accounting:
  1. Deposit Foundation checks
  2. Reconcile donations to Foundation team’s tracking system
  3. Prepare and post intercompany journal entries between the Hospital and Foundation corporations
  4. Compile and present Foundation financial statements

• Provide assistance to departmental supervisors in regard to expense variances, work as liaison to resolve accounting issues
• Record rent, CAM and income for various rental properties based on reporting from the third party property management company
• Review, analyze and report activity for assigned general ledger accounts and prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Collaborate with finance team for a timely monthly close
• Prepare and file state sales & use tax returns
• Prepare and file 1099s for all entities
• Assist in preparation of audited financial statements and provide audit support
• Other duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred
  
  

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years accounting experience preferred

• Licensure and/or Certification: None required

Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidential information. Strong numerical ability. Extremely organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
