Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm
Location: New Bedford, MA
Required: Extensive travel will be required.
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School experience required.
- 5-8 years of general maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC systems.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Familiarity with technology such as tablets and basic computer programs.
- Trade certifications/licensure (e.g., Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician – CAMT) is a plus.
- Extensive travel required.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, pivot, crawl, and climb stairs or ladders as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tool use, repairs, and equipment handling.
- Ability to see and inspect details up close and at a distance.
- Ability to hear and communicate clearly in a busy work environment.
- Comfort working in varying conditions, including heat, cold, snow, rain, and wind.
- Ability to safely wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and appliance repair.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, building systems, and infrastructure to ensure proper functioning.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritizing safety and operational needs.
- Assemble, install, or repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to avoid equipment breakdowns and prolong the life of building systems.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supply inventory; order materials as needed.
- Assist with facility projects, renovations, or upgrades under the guidance of management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards while performing duties.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and inventory usage.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to support facility needs.
- Collaborate with contractors or vendors as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests during and outside of normal working hours when needed.
- Perform other maintenance or repair tasks as assigned.
