Human Resources Manager

HR MANAGER
Location: Methuen, Massachusetts
Hybrid Schedule: Three days onsite, two days remote
Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000 annually

Position Overview
Comfort Home Care is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead day to day HR operations and partner closely with leadership on key people initiatives. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who can operate both strategically and in the day to day, while building consistency, structure, and strong manager support across the organization.

Comfort Home Care is a Joint Commission accredited home health organization headquartered in Methuen, Massachusetts. Since 2007, the organization has provided skilled nursing and psychiatric home health services to individuals across the state, supporting patients with complex medical and mental health needs in the place they feel safest, their home.

With a team of more than 200 professionals, Comfort Home Care partners with community providers and health systems to help patients maintain stability, independence, and dignity while living safely in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership and Oversight

• Lead daily HR operations and ensure consistency across all HR functions
• Provide direction and support to HR team members
• Partner with leadership to align HR practices with organizational needs

Employee Relations and Manager Support

• Serve as the lead resource for complex employee relations matters
• Coach managers through performance issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure consistent and fair application of policies

HR Operations and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Massachusetts requirements
• Oversee employee records, documentation, and HR processes
• Maintain audit ready HR practices

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

• Oversee recruiting and hiring processes to ensure strong candidate selection
• Support onboarding and orientation to improve early employee experience
• Partner with managers on hiring needs and workforce planning

Leave Management and Employee Support

• Oversee leave of absence administration, including FMLA and related processes
• Ensure clear communication and proper documentation throughout leave

Performance Management and Culture

• Support performance management processes and manager coaching
• Reinforce accountability, communication, and professionalism across teams
• Help strengthen overall workplace culture

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility
• Strong background in employee relations and HR operations
• Solid understanding of employment law and compliance
• Ability to influence and partner effectively with leadership and staff
• Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion
• Experience in healthcare or home care is a plus
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
