Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

TLC Nursing
Pittsfield, MA
Embark on a life-affirming journey as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. In this role you will guide families through one of life’s most intimate milestones, support laboring mothers, and collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and the neonatal team to ensure safe, compassionate births. This assignment offers you the chance to refine expert clinical skills while making a meaningful difference in every delivery. Imagine the trust you’ll earn, the cries of new beginnings, and the confidence you’ll help mothers and families feel during a pivotal moment. Separately, you can discover the beautiful places of Massachusetts: the Berkshire hills painted with stunning seasonal colors, world-class performing arts in nearby venues, tranquil rivers and outdoor pursuits, charming towns ripe for exploration, and a climate that invites both cozy winters and vibrant summers.

Location Benefits: Pittsfield sits at the heart of the Berkshires, where small-town warmth meets culture, outdoor recreation, and easy access to regional amenities. You’ll enjoy a supportive community, a balanced pace that honors your professional focus, and opportunities to connect with colleagues who share your passion for family-centered care. For travel nurses, there’s the additional advantage of exposure to varied hospital settings across the U.S., allowing you to broaden your clinical repertoire, experience diverse patient populations, and immerse yourself in different obstetric practices. From high-volume urban centers to rural community hospitals, you’ll gain insight into how maternity care is delivered in different contexts, all while maintaining the consistency, mentorship, and safety standards that matter most in Labor and Delivery. This location offers not only professional growth but a chance to savor Berkshire traditions, seasonal festivals, farmers’ markets, hiking along scenic trails, and a welcoming community that values resilience, teamwork, and compassionate care.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As an L&D RN on a travel assignment, you’ll lead and participate in comprehensive labor support, gestational monitoring, and delivery room coordination. Core responsibilities include continuous fetal monitoring and assessment, assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections when indicated, analgesia and anesthesia collaboration, rapid response to obstetric emergencies, postpartum care and lactation support, newborn assessment, and patient-family education that empowers informed decisions. You’ll partner with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal teams, and support services to ensure seamless care before, during, and after birth, while documenting accurately and advocating for patient safety and comfort. This role offers a clear path for professional growth within the specialty — strengthening proficiency in emergent neonatal resuscitation, obstetric emergency protocols, and evidence-based practices that enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. You’ll receive competitive benefits designed to recognize your expertise, including a sign-on bonus, housing assistance to simplify relocation, and extension opportunities that enable you to continue making an impact beyond an initial assignment. The arrangement includes robust support from a dedicated, travel-savvy team, with 24/7 assistance for clinicians on the road, ensuring you have reliable access to guidance, scheduling flexibility, credentialing support, and clinical resources whenever you need them. You’ll be part of a network that prioritizes safety, professional development, and a collaborative culture where every nurse’s voice is valued and every patient’s dignity is at the forefront of care.

Company Values: Our partner organizations are committed to empowering nursing professionals, fostering career advancement, and creating a supportive work environment that celebrates expertise, curiosity, and resilience. Expect mentorship, structured pathways for specialty growth, access to continuing education, and encouragement to lead quality improvement initiatives in maternity services. The emphasis on teamwork, respect, and well-being helps you sustain long-term fulfillment in a demanding specialty, while the travel model provides exposure to diverse settings, challenges, and innovations that expand your leadership toolkit and clinical confidence.
