The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Hardware Development team designs and builds mission-critical, ultra-high-performance, integrated compute and storage systems with sophisticated embedded software and advanced management services (ILOM, UEFI). Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer with strong automation skills and deep expertise in Python. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and QA teams, leveraging your strong programming background, comprehensive understanding of quality assurance methodologies, and experience with test harness tools to drive excellence in our testing processes.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases using Python.
-
Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies.

Apply in-depth knowledge of various Quality Assurance testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.

Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and feedback.

Maintain and enhance existing test harness tools; develop new utilities as required.

Contribute to test planning, test case design, test documentation, and risk assessment.

Actively participate in code and test case reviews.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices for test automation, performance, and security testing.

Support Fleet operations by being on call, debug & triage issues, monitor tickets and provide technical support to internal customers/teams.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

6+ years of experience as a QA or Quality Engineer with a focus on automation.

Strong programming skills in Python, with a proven ability to write maintainable and efficient code.

Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest).

In-depth understanding of quality assurance methodologies, including:

Functional testing
-
Regression testing
-
Performance testing (using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)

Security testing fundamentals
-
Experience with test harness tools and their implementation in automation workflows.

Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Solid understanding of software testing life cycle, test methodologies, and QA best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, issues, and recommendations.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, embedded systems (preferred)

Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Jenkins, Grafana, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, Jira Ticketing System
Preferred Qualifications
-
Direct experience with OpenBMC or other BMC firmware platforms.

Familiarity with hardware management and embedded systems testing.

Experience in writing ETL pipelines, designing and developing dashboards to meet business requirements. Working with Analytics tools like Oracle Analytics Cloud is highly desired

Experience with cloud environments (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc.).

Experience with supporting operations, participating in on-call rotations.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
