The Trauma-Informed Intervention Specialist (TIIS) in LUK’s Residential Services works with youth and staff to ensure that youth develop skills to regulate their emotions and staff deliver trauma-informed interventions. This position also helps newly placed youth transition to the residential setting. The TIIS gets to know each youth, including their triggers and behaviors, and supports each youth to create and use an individual emotional regulation plan. Interventions will be offered in individual and group formats. This position will work with other staff members and the youth’s multidisciplinary team. They will model and teach effective responses, and collaborate on assessments, treatment planning, progress reviews, and discharge planning.
This position is expected to have or develop expertise in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma treatment model and its application in a residential setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound understanding of the impact of separation on a youth’s emotional, developmental, and behavioral well-being as well as trauma reactive behaviors in youth. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or closely related field and at least one year of experience working with youth. Experience working in a residential setting is preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license, reliable and safe transportation required.
This is a full-time position located in North Central Massachusetts. Work will take place within the therapeutic milieu and will include community-based travel. Work schedule must accommodate the needs of the youth/family. Bilingual/bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
