Day (United States of America) Reporting to the Manager, Operational Training the Operational Trainer (OT) is responsible for training the professional billing staff. The OT will train new hires and identified needs of all professional billing staff who support all professional entities within the One BILH organization. Responsible for implementing training programs within PFS - PB. Assists in the creation and maintenance of policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs. Supports the Operational Training Manager by reviewing existing training programs; suggesting enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of PFS - PB. Responsible to facilitate orientation training as new employees onboard with PFS. In addition, identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve and conducts/facilitates required and recommended training sessions for existing staff. Under the direction of the Manager, audits internal staff, as directed by a schedule, to review and grade performance results, ensuring quality of work is achieved. This position requires knowledge of professional business office operational workflows, policies and procedures and expertise in industry standards as well as Epic analysis, build, usage and end user training. Assists in the management and maintenance of all professional documentation including Policies & Procedures, Education Alert and Tip Sheets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 1. Responsible for the training of the department's new hires including EPIC system navigation, applicable documentation and department workflows. 2. Assists in creating and developing new training curriculum and course material updates for the department. 3. Responsible to develop and facilitate individualized and group training programs that address specific department needs. 4. Assists the Operational Training Manager in the development of department policies and procedures, education alerts, and all applicable documentation and ensures all documentation is consistently reviewed and up to date. 5. Develops mechanisms for and performs internal staff auditing. Assists in in developing assigned staff necessary resources to ensure optimal performance and service delivery excellence. Maintains a system of reporting that provides timely and relevant information on all aspects of audits to management. 6. Based on audit results, develops necessary resources to ensure optimal performance and excellence are achieved on subsequent audits by tailoring a training plan for the employee. 7. Reports timely and relevant information on all aspects of audits to management. 8. Responsible to follow the program set forth to include but not limited to policy and procedures, and Epic system functionality. 9. Evaluates organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting department needs and improving performance. 10. Consistently current in training trends, developments and best practices. 11. Maintains thorough knowledge of workflows and processes for each position on the PFS PB team. 12. Keeps informed of all EPIC updates to ensure training material is current and successful. 13. Collaborates with Managers, and Directors to create a working environment that ensures success at all levels across PFS and actively participates and contributes to PB revenue cycle operational workflow decisions.

Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Associate Degree or Equivalent Health Information Experience Required

Licensure, Certification & Registration: None Required

Experience: 3+ years in healthcare environment preferably in a professional billing environment.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: The knowledge and abilities required to perform this function would typically be acquired through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelor degree; comprehensive knowledge of the components associated with billing for a large multi-specialty academic group practice. Excellent verbal and communication skills along with the ability to maintain productive and professional relationships. Excellent problem identification and solving skills. Works independently, ability to prioritize and organizational skills a must. Excellent communication skills.
