Senior Transportation Engineer
Location: Boston
We are seeking a senior transportation engineer experienced in roadway design who has a people-first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to make a positive impact on our organization and our communities.
Overview
This role is about leading others through high level execution and delivery of civil design projects while building client relationships that contribute to bringing work to the firm. Consistency, collaboration, and a keen focus on providing meaningful mentorship to others are all critical success factors.
Technical Focus
- Background in three-dimensional roadway, intersection, interchange, or multimodal design.
- Demonstrated experience working on design elements of any of the following: traffic signals, roundabouts, service interchanges, bicycle/pedestrian projects, signing and striping, and construction traffic control plans.
- High degree of functionality in and understanding of AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer.
- Experience in preparation and development of construction documents and supporting reports, plans, quantities, and estimates using highway design manuals, NCHRP guidelines, AASHTO policies, MUTCD, and local design criteria.

- Technical proficiency in transportation design and/or operations.
- Provide technical direction to others for complex projects/tasks.
- Develop sound and informed scopes, budgets, and schedules for proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
- Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where you will primarily deliver work or EIT with the expectation to obtain PE within one year.
- Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.
Compensation and Benefits

The range for this position is $105,000-135,000, which is a combination of your base salary plus an employer-funded 401K retirement contribution. Position in this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
