Facilities Description:
The Weston Golf Club, founded in 1894, is a private, member-owned golf club with approximately 560 members. Our facilities include an 18-hole Donald Ross course, paddle courts, tennis courts, and pool. Our dining facilities include a 130-seat casual dining room (Grill Room), a 40-seat first-come, first-served casual dining room (Coburn Room), and a 40-seat tavern-style dining room (Cape Club). The Club as a whole has seating for 250 people for events. We are open six days a week from February through December.
Position Summary:
The Director of Catering and Events will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Club's event operations, promoting, planning, and executing member-related activities, social and business meetings, and private banquets. The Director coordinates and organizes events by choosing the appropriate Club facility based on the event size and need; stays within budgetary constraints, directs the administrative and operational aspects of the events, and oversees staff. The Director shall place equal emphasis on planning and conceptualizing member internal events and private events. Periodically, the Director may perform several roles or work with staff in several departments. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The work schedule will include nights and weekends based on scheduled events and club necessities.
Position Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience (preferably in a club setting). A four-year degree is preferred, but not necessary. He or she should have strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. He or she should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be prompt and proficient in responding to member inquiries via phone or email. Must have excellent communication skills and be extremely well organized. He or she will provide excellent customer service with professional integrity. He or she must be courteous, show initiative and enthusiasm with members, guests, and staff.

- Coordinate with members regarding inquiries for hosting events
- Work closely with the F & B Manager and Chef to review upcoming events and parties, (BEO) meeting
- Have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform proper table service, event set-up, table sizes and capacities, proper table settings for daytime and evening events; experience in fine dining etiquette.
Additional Responsibilities and Job Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems and online reservation systems
- Ensure that all events/meetings are set properly each day
- Create floor plans for weekly events and prepare event/banquet staff accordingly
- Contact clients, update and confirm details to finalize BEOs
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to code department invoices
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor event progress and make necessary adjustments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
