Job Summary
Responsible for conducting technical and administrative patient support activities that assist the professional staff (Ophthalmologist Orthoptist Residents etc.) in administering the healthcare and support needed for patients and families in the outpatient ophthalmic clinic. Does this position require Patient Care Yes Essential Functions -Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions -Prepares patients for visual field tests -Recording patient history and chief eye complaint. -Maintains a smooth flow of patients to the physician altering test sequence as required. -Performs color vision testing and glare/brightness testing -Implements infection control policies and procedures. -Records and updates current eye medications and eye history/medical history in the patients health record -Serves and protects the healthcare community by adhering to professional standards policies and procedures federal state and local requirements and JCAHO standards.Qualifications
