Paralegal - General Liability

Zurich North America is currently hiring a General Liability Paralegal for its Staff Legal Office in Boston, MA. Their work will be in support of moderate to complex Liability litigation cases (e.g. case work, research, subpoenas, etc.). The preferred candidate will demonstrate experience with General Liability.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Providing legal support to two attorneys who practice in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts.

Drafting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed

Providing legal support such as legal and documentary research

Monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines

Conducting interviews, summarizing depositions, medical records

Preparing discovery requests and responses

Assisting in trial preparation

Responding to inquiries from and interacts with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses

Keeping track of billable hours

Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation, electronically

Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:


Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support area
AND
Experience conducting electronic database research
Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

Defense experience

Insurance industry experience

Ability to effectively conduct electronic database research, including WestLaw and NILS

Microsoft Office skills
