Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 (Based on Experience)

Position Overview
A well-established company in the construction services industry is seeking a Job Cost Analyst to oversee and manage job cost-related functions across various operational divisions. This position is responsible for producing accurate Work-In-Process (WIP) schedules, analyzing job performance metrics, and providing data-driven insights to support leadership in decision-making.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in job costing within construction or similar industries, with advanced Excel skills and a deep understanding of cost allocation, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and record all job-related costs, including labor, equipment, materials, purchase orders, and budgets.
- Maintain and update accurate WIP reports for all active jobs.
- Analyze job performance and collaborate with field and project personnel to assess gains and losses.
- Present job and divisional performance metrics during leadership and management reviews.
- Assist with invoice preparation and control documentation for seasonal operations.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel queries, reports, and dashboards utilizing data from multiple sources.
- Ensure invoice accuracy and alignment with purchase orders in collaboration with accounting.
- Manage and update warehouse inventory and equipment records used in job costing processes.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Major Projects
- Review and refine existing Excel queries (including legacy and Power Query reports).
- Create new Excel-based tools and models for expanded reporting capabilities.
- Utilize pivot tables, lookups, and custom formulas to streamline reporting workflows.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years in a job costing, financial analysis, or similar role (construction or mid-size company experience preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel proficiency required (queries, pivot tables, Power Query, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Familiarity with accounting software and cloud-based platforms is a plus.
Communication:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with teams across departments and organizational levels.
Organizational:
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Decision-Making & Problem-Solving:
- Skilled in evaluating complex financial data to make informed, business-driven decisions.
- Ability to develop effective solutions for operational and financial challenges.
Confidentiality:
- Must maintain the highest level of discretion with sensitive financial, legal, and personnel information.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting with occasional exposure to job sites. Minimal physical risk is associated with the role.
