At Piper , we're searching for a motivated leader to join our team in Boston, MA.

You will be required to work a schedule of Monday - Friday 8:30am- 5:00pm with occasional weekend work when necessary. Advance notice will be given. Travel will be required with this position and access to reliable transportation will be required. We are offering $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually, based on experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for responding to field service calls and returns. Ensuring that broken equipment is replaced and repaired. You must have a strong work ethic and be committed to showing up to work on time.

Here's what your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of field service technicians, contracted foreman and technicians.
  • Ensure technicians are properly trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties effectively.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Coordinate and schedule field service activities including installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Monitor service requests, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources efficiently to meet customer needs and service level agreements.
  • Oversee logistics, inventory management, and deployment of equipment and tools necessary for field operations.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues and provide guidance to technicians in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards, procedures, and best practices in all service activities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulations relevant to rail and public transportation systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their requirements and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Conduct regular customer meetings to review service performance, discuss upcoming projects, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure service excellence and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Clearly communicate Piper efficiencies to team and ensure team alignment with company policies

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of railroad rules and regulations and safety practices and service procedures
  • 3-5 years of management, preferably in the rail and public transportation sectors. Ability to effectively manage a team of technicians and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in using computer software for scheduling, record keeping, and communication purposes.
  • Strategic thinking to anticipate challenges, mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement in service deliveries
  • Experience in managing customer expectations, handling escalations and ensuring high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the maintenance of service trucks and vehicles
