How you'll make an impact

Actuarial Consulting provides a variety of high-quality services to clients through structured engagements requiring actuarial expertise.

This is a fully remote opportunity, where services may include:

  • Preparation and interpretation of risk data, design of insurance or retirement plans, calculation of plan premiums, determining cash reserves and premium rates necessary to ensure sufficient funds for benefits payment and profitability.
  • Primarily focused on leading and managing most complex projects counseling management and advises on retirement, benefit, or underwriting projects that require actuarial or mathematical techniques to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Recognized as most senior individual contributor.
  • Participates in the rate-making, reserving, and risk evaluation functions; Oversees and offers expertise in actuarial projects and plan design; Serves as a thought leader, in relevant technical area; Manages and conducts research projects and communicates findings to others; Communicates project findings and delivers complex reports to clients created by junior team members; Provides guidance to actuarial staff by overseeing preparation and analyzing statistical reports of data.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and as an actuarial liaison to other departments.
  • Leads actuarial projects (high complexity); Frequently mentors others May also develop and expand client relationships (high complexity), deliver advice and identifying new business opportunities (including cross-sell).
  • Responsible for making significant recommendations or implementing solutions to enhance client satisfaction and portfolio growth using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems.
  • Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues.
  • Implements strategic goals established by functional leadership.
  • Leads a team on larger, highly complex client projects/ engagements.
  • Leads large client projects/initiatives.
About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree; 8 years related experience.
  • Knowledge in relevant regulations where appropriate to role (e.g., state and federal benefits regulations, underwriting, or benefit products).

Desired:

  • Professional accreditation as Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) and/or Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA), or Fellow of the IFoA (FIA or equivalent).

Compensation and benefits

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
