PCB Designer

Job Description:

In MACOM's MMIC Business Unit we design MMICs and IMAs forcellular, aerospace & defense, and other wireless applications. Weare looking for an experienced RF/MMW IMA Mechanical Engineer with experiencedesigning packaging for MMICs, waveguide components, power supplies, supportPCBs, and test systems for RF & Millimeter Wave multi-chip modules.

• Be responsible for schematic entry, layout, test, and release of printed circuit boards to support a variety of RF, Microwave, and Millimeter-Wave products.
\n
• 2D and 3D modeling of printed circuit boards using Altium and AutoCAD
\n
• Create professional schematics fully linked and synchronized to BOM's and physical layouts from rudimentary communications with engineers.
\n
• With support of other engineering disciplines, design and document cost effective circuit boards, laminate packages, and assemblies to support product development.
\n
• Work with our MMIC design, mechanical design, electromagnetic design, analog/digital design, assembly, and test teams to develop new products as well as production methods.
\n
• Work with our Business Development team on bid & proposal activity.
\n
• Initiate prototype builds and manage product characterization. You will design evaluation hardware and characterization fixtures, then direct or perform measurements.
\n
• Generating manufacturing drawings and documentation.
\n
• Update design rules as required.
\n
• Lead peer review of design concepts.
\n
• Participate as functional lead in external design reviews.
\n
• Cooperating with Project Manager in order to maintain an up-to-date project plan and schedule.
\n
• Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production.
\n
• Keeping up to date, maintaining passion, and an unwavering thirst for knowledge about the latest circuit board technologies.
\n
• Customer support as required.
\n
• Advocate for PCB Design as a function and technology area within the company

Qualifications:

\n
• HS Diploma or GED
\n
• 5+ years working with enterprise grade technical software tools (3 years with Associate's Degree or other vocational education)
\n
• Prior experience with CAD platforms such as KiCAD, LibreCAD, AutoCAD, SketchUP, Fusion360, TinkerCAD, nanoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
\n
• Bona fide PCB enthusiast
\n
• Knowledgeable in drafting standards and best practices
\n
• Detail oriented and quality focused
\n
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits
\n
• Ability to make basic electrical measurements using a multimeter such as voltage, current, resistance, and continuity
  Hands-on troubleshooting experience
\n
• Good communication, organization and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships. Ability to work in fast-paced environment
\n
• Fluent in spoken and written English
\n
• Due to ITAR regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Permanent Resident

The Salary Range for this position is $23 - $39 per hour. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, includingbut not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education,and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
