Research Finance Manager Psychiatry - (3268548)

Working under the direction of the Director of the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory (PNL), the Research Finance Manager functions as a key resource for business and performance management across the PNL. The Research Finance Manager will be responsible for timely and efficient completion of all activities of the PNL's research studies. Responsibilities include financial development (analysis/planning/evaluation), project management of research related projects, and other essential needs that support the strength and stability of PNL.

The Research Finance Manager provides counsel and support to the Director and senior leadership team of the PNL on financial and administrative issues.

1. Support Director and PNL leadership team in monitoring >50 research funds within the PNL

2. Provide pro active management of research funds and oversight of subaward spending on research projects in the PNL to prevent overspending

3. Manage effort and submit salary allocation transactions for the PNL as needed to address research and budgetary needs

4. Maintain compliance with institutional, federal, foundation and industry terms and conditions

5. Work with Director and PIs within PNL to prevent, identify and resolve projected overruns and resolve deficits in a timely manner

6. Manage invoice approval and reconciliation related to assigned PNL research projects

7. Provide grant assistance in the form of pre-award budget preparation to federal, foundation and industry sponsors within PNL portfolio as allowed

8. Collaborate with Psychiatry research administration on salary allocations, effort and resolving deficits within research projects

9. All other duties as assigned.

  • B.S. in related field required, M.B.A or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years previous financial/project management experience required
  • Attention to details and commitment to accuracy and integrity of all data, reports and communications
  • Ability to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan for timely and successful completion of short and long term objectives.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively at all levels of a complex organization
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of faculty and administration in a knowledgeable, effective, positive, confident and professional manner
