Job Description

The Cleanroom Technician assembles and inspects precision medical product assemblies in a highly regulated cleanroom environment. This role involves working extensively under a microscope, using small hand tools, following detailed procedures, and maintaining accurate production and quality records. The ideal candidate brings strong attendance, reliability, curiosity, and attention to detail, and is eager to learn and grow within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and package medical product assemblies according to written specifications, drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work under a microscope for approximately 4–6 hours per day to assemble and inspect small components and assemblies.
  • Use small hand tools such as soldering tools, tweezers, and other assembly tools with a high level of hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Complete all required paperwork and electronic records accurately for assemblies, production activities, and quality documentation.
  • Use various measuring devices and quality control documents to verify that products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate mechanical, electrical, and optical tools and equipment to perform quality inspections and verify product performance.
  • Use computer programs and data collection tools to record operating data and make on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment as needed.
  • Perform operational tests and basic fault isolation on systems to identify potential issues or non-conforming products.
  • Identify, segregate, and properly document non-conforming product to maintain product quality and traceability.
  • Maintain cleanroom standards, including proper gowning procedures and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain accurate product traceability and identification throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate discrepancies, potential issues, and improvement opportunities promptly to the appropriate team members.
  • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a strong focus on quality, detail, and consistency.
  • As necessary, perform other related duties to support production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • 0–2 years of manufacturing or related experience, with a strong preference for prior experience in a regulated or production environment.
  • Consistently strong attendance and reliability, with a commitment to being on time and present for scheduled shifts.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, especially when working with small components and following detailed instructions.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom and regulated environment, including following strict procedures and cleanliness standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work 4–6 hours per day using a microscope for assembly and inspection tasks.
  • Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small parts, soldering tools, tweezers, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow drawings, written specifications, and quality documents.
  • Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures consistently.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in production and quality checks.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining focus and accuracy.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Familiarity with basic computer use and comfort using Microsoft Office products for data entry and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of electricity to support work with electronic assemblies and tests.
  • Strong engagement and curiosity, with a willingness to ask questions and actively participate in learning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Microscope experience in an assembly, inspection, or laboratory setting.
  • Experience in cleanroom, medical device assembly, production, or laser/microscope assembly environments.
  • Experience using measurement devices to record data and verify that assemblies meet written specifications.
  • Experience maintaining records and a cleanroom environment to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with test procedures and basic operational testing of systems.
  • Ability to maintain product traceability and identification throughout the production process.
  • Ability to identify and segregate non-conforming product in accordance with quality procedures.
  • A positive, engaged personality with a demonstrated desire to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Interest in long-term growth within a manufacturing organization, including potential advancement into leadership or technical roles.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, regulated manufacturing environment that follows strict cleanroom standards and Good Manufacturing Practices. Team members complete a full gowning process before entering the cleanroom and must maintain cleanliness and compliance at all times. The work is often repetitive and detail-oriented, involving extended periods working under a microscope and using small hand tools and measurement devices. The position is on second shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, with initial training conducted on first shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.40/hr.
