About Our Family:

We are a warm and energetic family of five, with children aged 9, 5, and 2, looking for a dedicated and supportive team member to join us. Originally from Michigan, we've called Massachusetts home for the past 15 years. Both of us are passionate about our careers, working full-time, and with our busy schedules, we need help keeping everything in balance.

As we don't have local family support, we're searching for someone who can step in as a proactive, reliable partner to help streamline our daily routines and take some of the load off our shoulders. We need someone who is organized, adaptable, and able to handle a variety of tasks, including household management, light childcare, meal prep, and running errands. Our ideal candidate will be someone who can bring structure and harmony to our home, while staying flexible and responsive to our ever-changing needs.

If you are someone who thrives in a busy, family-centered environment and is looking for a long-term partnership with a welcoming and active family, we'd love to meet you!

Who You Are / What We're Looking For:

  • Proactive & Collaborative: You take initiative and enjoy working as part of a team. You know how to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining flexibility.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You thrive on structure and are great at setting up systems that help streamline daily routines.
  • Patient & Problem-Solver: You're calm and understanding, able to handle situations with grace and find solutions to keep things moving smoothly.
  • Experienced & Self-Sufficient: You're comfortable managing your own tasks and being a hands-on member of the household without constant supervision.
  • Family-Oriented: You understand the needs of a busy family and are happy to adjust to their rhythms while providing reliable support.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization

  • Maintain household organization systems for closets, pantry, toys, and seasonal items (e.g., baby items, clothes swaps).
  • Daily reset of the kitchen and living room (unload dishwasher, wiping down counters, sweeping, etc.) and tidy rooms to maintain overall neatness. Ensure the house is ready for cleaning services (1x/month).
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pickups.
  • Support packing/unpacking for family travel or seasonal transitions, especially for weekend trips or summer vacations.
  • Monitor household schedules and calendars to ensure all tasks are covered.

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies.
  • Create and manage household supply lists for Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.
  • Run errands: grocery ordering/shopping, returns, and gift shopping as needed.
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries.

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prepare healthy meals/snacks for both adults and kids (1-3 nights/week).
  • Batch-cook weekly meals and snacks for family
  • Pack kid lunches during summer months for camps.
  • Order groceries and meal-related items.
  • Clean the kitchen after meal prep and maintain tidiness.

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry, including clothing, bedding, and towels.
  • Rotate linens and refresh towels, restocking essentials as needed.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked.

Vehicle Management

  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned, fueled, and organized.

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Assist with school pick-ups on Fridays and provide light childcare or backup supervision until 5–6 pm every Friday.
  • Help with child-related laundry, snacks, and errands as needed.
  • Occasional overnights with advance notice.

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Tackle occasional deep cleaning projects (fridge, oven, etc.).
  • Help organize specific areas (e.g., basement organization, toy storage, seasonal decorations).

How to Apply:

If you're interested in joining our family as a House Manager & Family Assistant, please email us with the following:

  • A brief letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this position.
