Dental Sterilization Technician/ Dental Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Dental Sterilization Technician to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization protocols are maintained across the clinic. Your expertise will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality dental care by preparing and sterilizing instruments, managing medical documentation, and assisting with clinical operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment focused on patient safety and exceptional service.
Hours of operation: Monday- Friday, 9 AM-5 PM & rotating Saturdays, 9 AM-1 PM
Qualifications:
- Previous dental or medical sterilization experience preferred (will train the right candidate)
- Carry a current dental assistant license or apply for OJT license
- Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- CPR/OSHA certification
- Radiology certification DANB is a huge plus
Duties
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store dental instruments according to OSHA, CDC, and state regulations
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.)
- Monitor and document sterilization logs, spore testing, and compliance records
- Prepare and stock operatories with sterile instruments and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of sterilization and lab areas
- Assist clinical staff with instrument flow, turnover efficiency, and taking x-rays
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience working with PMS such as Asprodental, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures specific to dental clinics.
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and 3D scanners, efficiently.
- Previous dental or medical sterilization experience preferred
- Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and ensure compliance with health regulations.
