Seasonal/Full-Time (40 hours per week).April – October 20
We’re seeking a Chef with a creative vision to join our team and grow our restaurant on Hyannis Harbor. Candidates for this position will have strong leadership abilities, a hospitality mindset, and a hands-on approach to the art of running a professional kitchen in a fast-paced environment.
A culinary degree is preferred but not required.
Banquet Experience a plus.
Duties:
- Manage kitchen output and kitchen team
- Supervises and coordinates all activities of cooks and kitchen staff who are engaged in food preparation
- Prepare food in a timely manner
- Ability to work/produce at all stations of the kitchen
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Create additions/specials
- Oversee proper execution and presentation
- Maintain inventory of food stock (quantities and freshness)
- Uphold inventory control procedures and ensure that the kitchen is prepared for the following day's work.
- Communicate kitchen needs with Executive Chef.
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Culinary degree preferred or at least three to five years working in a professional kitchen
Additional requirements:
Able to walk or stand for long periods.
Maintain professional appearance and interaction while performing duties onsite at events.
Ensure superior quality and consistent of production at all times. All menu items should be produced in a manner that is consistent with company recipes, techniques and presentation expectations.
Able to continually enhance the culinary experience of food service.
Prerequisites:
- Solid knowledge and practice of food safety, sanitation, food preparation techniques.
- Able to work flexible hours and days.
- Knowledge of current and updated culinary trends.
- ServSafe Certificate.
- Allergens Certificate
