Director of Financial Reporting

Vaco has partnered with a Technology company in the Greater Boston area and they are looking to hire a Director of Reporting & Technical Accounting

Responsibilities:

· Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, earnings releases, and related disclosures.

· Own the annual report process, coordinating with Legal, Investor Relations, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

· Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting aligned with US GAAP and SEC regulations.

· Serve as the in-house technical accounting authority, providing guidance on complex areas.

· Draft technical memos and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

· Monitor emerging accounting standards and lead the implementation of new guidance.

· Act as primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.

· Partner with internal audit and the Controller’s team to evaluate and strengthen processes.

· Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· CPA required.

· 10+ years of relevant experience, including a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and public company experience.

· Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting concepts.

· Proven experience drafting and reviewing SEC filings.

· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
