Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 25, 2025 – November 22, 2025)
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week; every other weekend and holiday required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,370 - $2,440
• Patient Ratio: 1:3, 1:4, or 1:4-5 (with MedSurg patients)
• Unit Size: 38 beds
• Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Required: Surgical stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• IMCU/Stepdown RN experience required
• Experience with automated medication dispensing systems
• At least one previous travel nursing assignment
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Tele test and Critical Care Medication test required on Day 1
• Preferred: Experience in tertiary care healthcare facilities

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-operative and intermediate care patients in a Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips for cardiac patients
• Administer medications using automated dispensing systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and comply with all hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in unit-based quality assurance and improvement initiatives
