Your Responsibilities
We are seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to support our portfolio of residential properties in Boston, MA. You will be based at four sites in Mattapan and Hyde Park totaling 183 units, and you will report to other sites in Boston as needed. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance team including assignment and completion of work orders.
- Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, as well as tracking and documenting inspections thoroughly.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Coordinating and scheduling vendors for special projects and skilled maintenance repairs
- Managing maintenance budgets and inventory of supplies.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Training and mentoring the maintenance staff.
- Updating records and reports related to maintenance activities.
- Maintaining an elevated level of customer service for the residents.
The work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties shared on rotation.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy. Team building and problem-solving skills will also be key to success in this position.
- Experience with general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, and HVAC is required.
- Prior experience supervising a team of maintenance professionals is required.
- Computer skills and previous experience with a work order system is required; experience with Yardi is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- A driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
